Enrichment days

Fun Friday

At Foston CE School, we believe that the academic life of our school should include much more than what happens in the main stream curriculum.

On Fridays we offer a wide range of experiences and challenges that enrich our curriculum.  This is to ensure that our children are inspired to learn and to provide our children with first-hand, memorable experiences, invaluable to their learning.

Through our Curriculum Enrichment programme we use the talents and experiences of others from outside of the school, alongside the talents and interests of staff and children within school, to enrich all children’s learning and education.

On a Friday morning children work together across the school and engage in whole school mathematics problem solving and creative writing.

During the afternoon, children take part in a choice of workshops based on their interests. These change each half term. Workshops have included sewing, recorders, cooking, Lego, guitar, Jumba, computers and art.

At the end of each half term the children are treated to a whole school fun activity trip. Our last one was to Energi Trampoline Park.

This half term are workshops are as follows:

Session 1

Tiles and Mosaics

Session 2

Charity Work

Outdoor activities
