Welcome to Foston Church of England VC Primary School website. We hope you enjoy browsing the pages and learning about our lovely village school.

Foston Primary School is situated in the Howardian Hills close to Castle Howard. We pride ourselves in providing an excellent education to all children in our care. The curriculum is planned to suit the needs of all individuals and has the emphasis on motivating, and engaging learning that develops children into independent learners.

We have strong links with the local community and Church (All Saints’ and St Peter’s -York Minster). These links are supported through our relationship with the York Diocese as we are a Voluntary Controlled Church of England Primary School.   Alongside this we encourage children to develop a knowledge and understanding of the wider world around us through national and international links.

At Foston, we aim to have a happy and successful school.  To achieve this, we work in partnership with parents, governors, the wider community and the church.  We ensure all children receive a broad, balanced curriculum within the National Curriculum guidelines.  Being a small caring school, we are able to consider the needs of individual children.  We have high expectations of all our pupils in all aspects of school life.

We encourage our children to be confident yet respectful, showing thought, co-operation and tolerance of others' views, feelings and opinions.  We also encourage them to be self-disciplined and self-motivated to achieve success at their own level.

For over 150 years, this very special village school at the foot of the Howardian Hills has offered a unique and individual education to generations of families.

Please give us a ring to come and have a look at our school and see why our children love coming to school.
